I really enjoyed the big homecoming and the Hall of Excellence ceremonies for Buck Martinez yesterday.  Just the right amount of formal ceremony, fun, a few laughs and some sentimental memories.  Buck's speech was great with his wife Arlene at his side.  And what a nice touch bringing back Blue Jays greats from the past 50 years to open the new Hall of Excellence.  Sportsnet and the Jays did an superb job honouring Buck.

Loved when Buck visited the broadcast booth for about half an hour with Dan Shulman and Joe Siddall and just talked about the day and memories.  He mentioned how the broadcast crews are like baseball teams and they always played like a team working at both TSN and Sportsnet. 

The Jays apparently attract the largest TV audiences in baseball, and sell the second most tickets in the American League according to Steve Simmons from The Sun. 

And we can't forget...what a super game yesterday!  Bateman flying around the bases and getting an unexpected run, Kirk stealing second base with the fans jumping to their feet and a standing ovation.  And the Jays won the game...  A perfect day.
