Both CTV News Channel and CBC News Network ...............
failed on a big news night. Obviously, Trump was going to make some kind of announcement late at night but both turned the lights off and went to bed.

There was not much of a story to tell, and no surprise that they were delayed. If the 50 tariffs would have happened, now that would have been a big story.
I watched CTV National News and it was the first story, but that lasted a whole 2 minutes because there was nothing more to be said.

I waited to watch the news last night and like Aytononline said, there wasn’t much to report, even online there wasn’t many details. I’m just getting pieces of it this morning, like most Canadians. Can’t believe the BS we’re being put through as a nation, by our neighbour no less.

I think CBC and CTV may be starting to realize that Canadians are sick and tired of hearing about anything and everything the current POTUS says or does. Maybe they've learned from the first time around?

But, who would be the normal option for the usa?
Both parties are to far, 1 far-left and 1 now far-right and violent.
They nead a normal centre-left or centre-right leader.
But back to broadcasting, Don't blaim ctv or cbc, I would'nt want to hear any of the american politisions talk on air, nither the demicrats and that mamdani destroyer of new york, or the republicans and trump the destroyer of the usa.

We are luckey in canada in that we have normal news channels to turn to.
The usa news market is to far-left or to far-right with only pbs and news nation the only normal news options there.
Out of the right options, fox news during the day can be more normal and same with cnn during the day.

Not sure how they failed. Trump's announcement came across on Truth Social which both CTV and CBC covered. As did BBC, CP24, Global etc. All had the 3 day delay on tariffs and Trump's announcement of a DEAL at 11pm as the lead. The Canadian networks had analysis based on not a lot of detail or information.
