The End Of Summer Is Now Official On Radio

Heard my first "Let's Go To The Ex" commercial on the radio Monday morning at 6:18 AM. It was on CFRB, but you'll inevitably hear it on just about every other station in town.

For anyone born or raised here, it means the inexorable end of summer. Expect it to run in heavy rotation until the annual fall fair closes in September.

Let's be fair....even Americans come to the CNE. I've been doing so for DECADES.

Heard that! I also saw my first “back to school” ad this weekend, it was for Walmart. Man, summers sure seem to fly by!

I have fond memories of the Ex as a kid, especially the Air Show.  Last time I went about 10 years ago, it was nothing but a tacky flea market.  No interest in ever going again.

CNE goers sure do vote with their feet though. The CNE also has a decent bandshell nightly free concert series that is often under attended, a few live band venues and a talent competition that are also under attended, historical and First Nations displays where you could shoot a cannon down. And yet the flea markets, food building, farming building and especially the midway are jam packed.

Me to.
I only want to go for the tiney tom downuts, the zoomer radio booth, and maybe the bandshell and an argos game.

And, about the end of summer, the temps are starting to cool down this comming weekend, were soon going to hear commercials about fall and cold weather, and staff will be coming back on talk radio.
