I'm not a huge sports fan, but there are moments that have become iconic over the years even to a casual observer. And that's where CNN's new Tom Hanks-produced "Decades In Sports" series comes in. The show goes over the coming of sports on TV and the relationship that grew from both, and how those events helped change the world.

It's a seven part series and features memorable moments including Michael Jordan's dominance of the NBA, the New York Yankees' dynasty in baseball, Tiger Woods ascension to the world's top golfer and more. 

CNN says the series "explores the defining moments, athletes and cultural shifts that shaped sports over the past six decades, from the television revolution and Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, to the transformative social and political changes of the 1970s, to the impact of social media on today’s biggest sports stars. Along the way, each decade reveals the unforgettable athletes, championship moments and cultural milestones that transformed sports, and America.

The show debuts Sunday night with two episodes, followed by the next five on subsequent Sundays. I've always enjoyed CNN documentary series in the past, including the History of Sitcoms and The Seventies. So even though I don't watch much sports, this one looks worthwhile. 

Just one caveat: this is an American production, so don't expect to see Canada's Golden hockey moments or anything to do with this country in the series. Still might be worth a look. The first episode airs Sunday night at 9 PM, followed by the second at 10.
