CHUM-FM Now Reporting as Mainstream AC
CHUM-FM is now reporting as a Mainstream AC – after decades as Canada's definitive Hot AC – and shifting its playlist somewhat in the direction of CHFI’s.
There are still real differences. In the past two and a half hours, as far back as their Recently Played page goes, CHUM played only two songs before 2000, and those both 90s, “Gangsta’s Paradise” and “The Sign.” CHFI is heavy, heavy on 80s.
We can still expect CHUM to tilt a little more recent, pop, and urban. CHFI will not play “Gangsta’s Paradise.” We can still expect CHFI to tilt more soft.

Maybe it’s an oversight by them. Other then that I still find CHUM 104.5 an excellent station to listen to. I find CHUM FM going against Energy 95.3 from Hamilton. Their playlist is a bit the same as CHUM’s.
