If this isn't a sign of the times, nothing is. A low-rated Buffalo TV station has dumped its sister-related TV news show in favour of generic streaming shows. It happened at WNLO Channel 23, which not everyone in the GTA can see.
They used to do a 7 PM newscast out of co-owned WIVB. But there were so few viewers - measured in the low thousand - that owner Nexstar decided it's not worth the money. That time slot will now be taken up by shows usually relegated to its WBEN+ streaming service.
Odds are none of the shows being aired will be of much interest to Canadians (or those in Buffalo, either.) The new schedule starts on Monday.
