Why This Weekend's Blue Jays Broadcast Will Be An Historic One
Madison Shipman will make Blue Jays history on Friday as the first woman to ever call a regular season Blue Jays game. She'll be in the booth all weekend, doing play-by-play, where in the past, she's been basically restricted to being an analyst and commentator on radio post game shows. She's also done similar analysis work for ESPN.
She has called two games in spring training, but this is the first time when it counts - during the regular season.
Shipman comes by her knowledge of the game honestly - she once played professional softball in Tennessee.

She’s a pro alright, caught her calling the game last night and she was great. My only criticism would be that she could have used a bit of make-up as she looked a little rough on camera off the top, she usually is highly presentable.

I like Madison but....please...a little less chatter. Less...is More!
I don't need an analysis after every swing, catch or throw. Also like Caleb Joseph in the booth too..but he should abide by the same rules.

And try to stick to the game at hand. Joseph and Shulman will go off on some tangent about something, like the best steak in whatever town the team is visiting, and before they're done blathering, 2 batters have been up and the inning has ended without so much as a strike or ball count.

Yes, she did a great job and I think she looked just fine. Very presentable. I doubt you would have made a comment about one of the male broadcasters who might have looked "a little rough."

How presumptuous of you. I was just waiting for someone to jump on me for that and yes, I have called out male broadcasters for various reasons, if you’re on TV, it is visual medium, so appearance matters, male or female, alangee, think about it. Thank you.

Male, female, or non-binary, none of the baseball talking heads can put a polish on the turd of a Blue Jays season thus far.
