Toronto Radio Station Looking For A "Summer Intern"

It's been a while since I've seen any local radio station have a "Summer Cruiser" type job available. But Indie88.1 has an opening for someone to represent the station at summer events, to promote them at movie openings, concerts and other GTA goings-on.

My favourite part of the ad they're running on their website is the line that reads "some heavy lifting is required."

Well, I'm out!

But if you know anyone who might want to be in, here's where to apply.

I imagine there's probably more than "some".

Re: Toronto Radio Station Looking For A "Summer Intern"

Working out of the "summer cruiser" used to be the way a lot of younger people got their first break in radio, handing out swag and representing the station at live events.

It never paid very much, but students interested in working in the biz used to use it as a possible stepping stone into the industry.

Given how radio is not really part of a younger generation's lives anymore, I wonder how many applicants they'll get.

I think most young people nowadays would rather start their own podcast or YouTube channel than apply for a "foot in the door" radio job that may or (likely) may not lead to something bigger.
