We all know how much attention a Super Bowl spot gets, not only on air during the big game, but weeks before and after with YouTube preivews and replays. But how much is too much? Disney, the owners of ABC and ESPN, which will air the Big Game in Februray 2027, is already asking an astounding $10 million for a 30 sec. commercial on the broadcast.
It's no secret the NFL finale commands a pretty penny, but even some of the most eager sponsors are doing a double take being asked to fork over that much money.
Have to say I'm not a fan of Disney. When I had my 10' C-Band satellite dish and subscribed to a package of channels, the price would constantly go up. Why? Disney kept asking for more and more and more dough for its ESPN, a part of the basic package you couldn't refuse even if you never watched it. Which I didn't. So this ask does not surprise me.
