She's been off the air since at least Thursday with no real explanation. You don't have to like Alex Pierson or her style, but at least when she's on, she's talking about local Toronto or Ontario issues.
Instead, they've been presenting Shaye Ganam's show in the 12PM-3 PM slot, which airs in both Edmonon and Calgary. The problem? At least 95% of it is about Alberta issues and concerns for the local government out there. With only a few exceptions, none of it is even remotely relevant to listeners in Toronto. But for at least three weekdays in a row, we've been hearing about the Alberta legislature, Edmonton politics, complaints or praise for Premier Danielle Smith and more that could not matter less to those in Toronto or London.
Corus used to have a few substitte hosts when someone was off, includng Steve Paikin or Kevin Vuong. At least they talked about local issues. Good or bad as Ganam is, his subject matter is a complete turnoff, and his been for part of the last week.
Is this part of Corus' financial woes that they have to import a show from a part of the country that leaves out most of its local Toronto audience? Maybe. But there's no excuse for putting this on three or four days in a row. Hopefully, Pierson will be back soon, and they can return you to your regular programming. Because this isn't working.

RadioActive - I agree with your post. Did you know Shaye is an actor? Alex is sick, recovering from a chronic illness, but will return as soon as possible.

Thanks for the update. I like her show, but if she's going to be off for a long period of time, they should at least replace her program with local content. That said, get well soon, Alex.

Is he still an actor? He has a single acting credit, on a movie from 26 years ago, playing a sportscaster.
