BN/CP's Rose Kingdon RIP

https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/article/pillar-of-canadian-broadcasting-rose-kingdon-of-the-canadian-press-dead-at-65/

Longtime BN/CP reporter, editor and audio supervisor Rose Kingdon has died.

It's very sad for me as I worked closely with Rose for almost thirty years. From the days when we worked side by side on the overnight/early morning shift to when she very deservedly was promoted to audio supervisor.

While in management she treated all the staff with tremendous respect. And she was very kind to me personally. When my mother was diagnosed with end stage pancreatic cancer and moved into a hospice, she made sure to schedule my shifts so that I could visit Mom every day for the last few months of her life. I'll never forget that.

She was always good for a few good chuckles when I'd drop by her office for our daily chats.

Perhaps the saddest part of her death is she took retirement a couple of years ago, but was hit by an onslaught of health problems that continued until her death. She never got to enjoy her retirement at all.

Rest well Rose. You will be greatly missed.

Re: BN/CP's Rose Kingdon RIP

Rose might easily be described as one of the last great professional broadcast experts in the country.
She spent many years off the air in management but had a deep understanding of the day to day workings of broadcast journalism.
As a person I knew her as a kind forgiving professional and dedicated mother to her children.
I am terribly sad to see her passing.
