It's a pet project from sometime SOWNY contributor, the great Scott Fybush. He long ago put up a site dedicated to, of all things, the Top of the Hour I.D.s from radio stations across North America - often the only time you actually hear the call letters.

It's a pretty eclectic collection and the Toronto page contains a lot of ethnic stations, like CHLO, CIRF, CHIN, CHHA and CHTK. But you'll also hear the more commercial outlets, including two you'll never hear again - the now online-only CJYE and CJMR.

There's also all the usual suspects (although oddly CFRB is not represented.) The CFTR I.D. is from May 2006 and features two voices you haven't heard in a while - the now retired Marlane Oliver and John Ross.  

The Buffalo page features WGR, WBEN, WECK and more. Some of the stations no longer exist, including the final ID for WNED-AM, as it turns the 970 frequency over to a new owner, the old WPHD at 103.3 and 1270's former WHLD.

It's definitely not for everyone, but a real great historical look at a radio market frozen in time.
