Cops now think she may have been kidnapped, although they don't know why. She needs her meds every 24 hours - a time that has now passed. 

It was really fascinating watching NBC and ABC News at 6:30 Monday, both of which led with this story. You could tell it was personal because both anchors knew the family involved. A very unusual situation in a business that usually tries to keep an objective distance from its story subjects.

It's always possible that there has been a ransom demand and that the cops aren't willing to reveal it. This is a very strange case and I fear it will not end well. 

I believe this was a random home invasion. Whose home it is was unknown to the perpetrators at the time of the event. I might also suspect they were expecting the home to be empty but found themselves with a surprise hostage, who can possibly identify them so they bundle her up and take her with.

Had it been planned, a ransom note would've been left at the scene. The ransom note only appears after all the news coverage mentioning the homeowner's famous child, and is only sent to a celebrity news/gossip outlet. Why isn't the note sent to traditional news outlets, especially the one that employs said famous child? Probably because the perpetrators are of the digital generation.

The suspect they had in custody has been questioned and released. Still no sign of either victim or culprit as the mystery deepens.
