Radio Museum Site Profiles Jocks, Jingles & Stations

I found this great site that’s sure to be of interest to some here, especially those into radio history. It’s called the USA Radio Museum and it features articles, airchecks and various categories from the heyday of Top 40 and beyond.

While Canada really isn’t covered, there are entries for CKLW, which comes in connection with the medium in Detroit.

Among those profiled:

Wolfman Jack

Scott Muni

Joey Reynolds

 John Landecker

Gary Owens

And WJR Detroit Legend J.P. McCarthy

There are also entries on various stations, including WIBG Philadelphia, WXYZ Detroit, WLS Chicago, and KLIF Dallas, where Top 40 radio was born. Other pages trace the history of Detroit broadcasting, a look at the Monkees on TV, PAMS jingles for a host of famous stations, and the JFK assassination and how the medium handled that terrible day in November 1963.

And that’s just the start. You can check out this great freebie here
