It is a big loss to the Toronto Blue Jays and the subject of endless speculation even before last season's amazing run began - would the Jays be able to re-sign all star shortstop Bo Bichette?
The answer, as we now know, is no, after he inked a huge deal with the New York Mets.
Looking for more opinion and discussions about this, I foolishly tuned into Toronto's two all sports yakkers, TSN1050 and The Fan 590. What were they talking about? The Fan was going on endlessly about the coaches in the NHL. And TSN1050 had imported American programming talking about (what else?) football.
Not a word about the biggest local sports story in days. If the folks behind either of these stations ever wonder why their ratings are in the toilet, look no further than this example. A huge story and a huge disappointment. Talk about spoil sports.

Finally. Blair & Barker are on The Fan discussing the deal as of 2PM. I believe the Jays Talk show was scheduled in that spot, so it's a bit of serendipity. But why not have them go on early?
And TSN1050? "Game Play" was still on about the NFL. Then a needless recap of the Leafs from last night. But at least they eventually got to the Bichette story. Just very late.
Both stations were late with a major headline that broke just before 12:30 PM, but at least they finally got to it.

Yes, I agree with you. But how much money did Bell and Rogers save?
