At a time when too many broadcasters are simply ignoring their own histories, NBC is proud as a peacock. The world's oldest North American network is planning to make a big deal of its 100th anniversary in 2026. It started with a single radio broadcast on November 15,1926 and it now extends to TV, streaming and a host of other spin-off businesses.

From the first ever World Series broadcast and the first full colour show in 1954 to the Nixon-Kennedy debate and the coming of Saturday Night Live, there's no shortage of milestones to mark. 

As a fan of broadcast history, I'm looking forward to seeing what's inside their vaults.
