CFTR always had a great newsroom, at least in the days I was there during the Top 40 era. They went rock in 1972, and according to this article, they didn't want too much of it on their airwaves. The irony compared to their current format can't be lost on anyone. 

"Repetitive News?" Some could argue that's all they do now.
