Thursday was the last night for the much vaunted dual anchor format of the CBS Evening News. Anchors John Dickerson and Maurice Dubois both said adieu to viewers (what few there were!) at the end of the show.
It's such a rare event these days that anyone in broadcasting actually gets to say goodbye that it was quite heartwarming to see their farewells and some behind-the-scenes peeks at the CBS newsroom. (And you can't fail to notice Dubois' homage to legendary CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow as his final words on the broadcast.)

Former CBS morning show host Tony Dokoupil takes over the solo anchor chair the first week of January.
