And in typical Rogers fashion, they tell you to click on a link to see what's coming in Jan. 2026, when the service is discontinued.
"Beginning January 14, 2026, a new discovery+ service provided by Rogers will be available with a new website and app. For more info, go to discoveryplus.ca/comingsoon."
And here's what you see when you click that link. Seems only appropriate.

Yesterday's CTV Toronto noon newscast mentioned that Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is part of the Paramount hostile takeover bid to purchase Warner Brothers.
Obviously with the current US administration deciding whether any merger can happen or not, Paramount teaming up with Trump's son-in-law is going to give them a huge, if completely unfair, edge over Netflix.
Trump is also friends with Larry Ellison, the father of Paramount-SkyDance chair and CEO, David Ellison.

Warner execs are urging shareholders not to take the Paramount deal, choose Netflix instead:
Warner Bros favours Netflix offer over $108bn Paramount bid
In a lengthy legal filing, Warner Bros Discovery's board said the offer from Paramount poses numerous and significant risks, and strongly rejects the idea that the Ellison family - one of America's richest - is financially supporting the bid.Paramount is backed by the billionaire Ellison family, which has close ties to the president. In a reflection of where power now lies in the entertainment industry, the Warner Bros board says the offer from streaming giant Netflix is well financed and offers better long term value to shareholders.

And now, just under a month later, they've reaffirmed that advice.
"Warner Bros. Discovery said Wednesday that its board determined Paramount’s offer is not in the best interests of the company or its shareholders. It again recommended shareholders support the Netflix deal."

After more than 8 months of wrangling and worry about what will happen if Paramount takes over Warner Bros., another roadblock has emerged to delay the deal. A U.S. District Court judge has ordered the proposed merger be put on hold, pending the outcome of legal actions against it.
Paramount owns CBS and the streaming service Paramount Plus. Warner has its giant movie studio and also has control of cable entities like CNN. There are fears that, after recent new directions at CBS, CNN could be made over into a political propaganda arm for the White House, much like Fox News.
The objections come as part of a challenge that it violates the Anti-Trust Act, a rule designed to prevent the loss of competition. The new delay is for at two weeks pending a hearing to block it even longer. It comes as Paramount faces potentially expensive penalties if the merger doesn't go through in a timely manner.
“The unlawful merger of these two entertainment behemoths would lead to higher prices, lower quality, and less content for film and television, harming movie theaters, basic cable distributors, and ultimately, audiences on every sofa and movie theater seat in the U.S.,” (California Attorney General Rob) Bonta said in a statement accompanying the court filing."
There has been anxiety at CNN about what will happen if controversial right leaning CBS exec. Bari Weiss, who has already pulled the Eye Network to the right and dismissed dozens of employees who don't support her agenda - including those at 60 Minutes - takes charge of CNN and turns it into a Fox News clone.
