I have to say my heart skipped a beat or two when going through some news feeds on Friday and spotting a headline about morning man John Moore having died.
The headline wasn't wrong - John Moore did in fact pass away. And he was a well known morning man. Just not here.
It turns out, by sheer coincidence, there was a guy named John Moore who did mornings on WSB, the 50K AM blowtorch in Atlanta, in the 1970s. He was 82 and suffering from the effects of dementia.
But for a very infinitesimal second, as I grazed by the story only half looking, I thought something awful had happened.
The headline and a pic of the other John Moore is on the Atlanta Journal Constitution website. It's behind a paywall, but you get the gist.
I'm sorry for Mr. Moore and his family in the Peachtree State. But I'm happy to tell you that ours is fine and will be back on the air none the worse for wear on Monday morning.

While I'm sorry for the other John Moore's friends and family, I am relieved our John Moore is most definitely still with us and will, if the universe is kind, be on the air informing and entertaining 1010 listeners for many, many years to come.

The Heineken 0.0 beer ad has the statement "must be of legal drinking age". Why.?
Best guess would be because it looks like beer? If 0% beer was allowed to be consumed by minors, kids would fill those 0% bottles with the real stuff.

Most de-alcoholized beers in Canada contains 0.5% alcohol, which is about one-tenth the strength of most regular Canadian beers. I don't know if it's the same in the U.S.

A friend of mine who is an alcoholic, but sober for many years, told me he could not trust himself to even drink a non alcoholic beer.
He said it was still too tempting because it smelled and tased like regular beer.
The odd thing is when he was drinking he was a straight scotch drinker.

I was wondering about this earlier this morning and thought that it was just me and that my coffee hadn’t kicked in yet….!

No real idea what happened here unless one of our posters decided to delete his original message, but not before someone quoted it and commented on it, leading to the trail of confusion.

Turns out he won't be back bright and early on Monday morning after all. Jim Richards was in for John Moore on the first show of the week. I'm assuming this means four hours of Deb Hutton in the afternoon, since CFRB seems to have no substitute hosts in their back pocket at all.
Moore's absence will be shortlived. He returns Tuesday morning.
