Colleen Jones 1959-2025
Longtime CBC reporter and championship curler Colleen Jones has died at age 65. She had cancer.
She was with the CBC from 1986 to 2023, with CBC Newsworld from 1989 to 2012 and otherwise reporting locally for CBC Halifax, she also did some Olympic coverage for CBC. I remember she hosted weather on CBC Newsworld from Halifax back in the late 90s and early 2000s, she was also on-air the morning of 9/11. But she was probably best known for her curling career, playing in tournaments including the Scotties.

Colleen got a nice shout out from Heather Hiscox during HH's final CBC Morning Live - they had assembled the original CBCML crew minus Ms. Jones. Now we know why she didn't attend.

One of the nicest and most effervescent people I ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was a gem, both in broadcasting and in the hack.
