Ray Romano, along with cast members and crew reminisce about the iconic show that debuted 30 years ago.
Even though the show is extremely popular in reruns after going off the air 20 years ago, Ray Romano says a reboot is not happening.
“We don’t want to do it because It would never be as good. First of all, even if every cast member was alive and well, they’re never as good as when the show was thriving and we were younger. And the fact that the mother and the father and one of the kids is gone, and also a couple of the guest stars are gone, we would be doing a disservice to the show. They are such a major dynamic and element of what made the show work, it would almost feel disrespectful to them to even try to do it."
Tonight at 8pm on CBS and Global.

Saw a promo for this today on WWJ, the CBS O&O in Detroit, during lunch at the local hospital cafeteria. Never did watch ELR very often myself... was more of a Two And A Half Men fan, at least in the Sheen era.

This was such a big hit for CBS, that they're repeating it on Friday at 9 PM Eastern.
"The special topped the 2025-26 season average of every primetime non-sports program on broadcast except for CBS’ 60 Minutes and Tracker and ABC’s Dancing With the Stars as well as Matlock‘s Sunday season premiere."

I never watched the show when it was originally in prime time but enjoyed the special. Ray Romano is bang on why the show should not be rebooted. If CBS wanted Everybody Loves Raymond back, just run the old series in prime time again.
