A Podcast Featuring On Air Personalities & Their Amazing Radio Stories

It's kind of like the Toronto Mike of the U.S.

A group of radio personalities (most of whom you've likely never heard of) tell stories about what happens when the mics are off - and sometimes on - talking to other DJs from across formats. The results are some wildly entertaining stories that only radio people can tell.

Amongst the tales you'll hear on the AIRCHECK series:

"Radio road tales from Steve [Raymond] include answering the building’s door on a Saturday in Atlantic City and being face to face with The Clash’s Joe Strummer, randomly driving by to make a request..."

"An early career moment Lenny [Bloch] talks about was as an intern at WNBC New York and working the phones for Wolfman Jack."

"Paul Heine being scolded by the quiet Beatle/George Harrison is an AIRCHECK moment you won’t want to miss."

As often happens, it's what you don't hear that's often the most entertaining.

AIRCHECK: A Podcast About Radio’s Personality from Radio Personalities

"AIRCHECK" actually has five seasons in the book and all are free and archived here. You may not know the names, but you'll probably love the stories.

Re: A Podcast Featuring On Air Personalities & Their Amazing Radio Stories

Will check it out, thanks RA! I’ve been noticing more of these industry type podcasts popping up. This summer I stumbled upon one with BBC/British tv personalities from the 60s/70s, pretty good but of course I didn’t bookmark it!
