When the U.S. government made the decision a few months ago to stop funding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, there were fears some NPR & PBS stations would have to go off the air due to a lack of money.
For now, WNED-TV and WTVS in Detroit seem to be holding their own, partly thanks to funding from viewers north of the border. But others in some smaller states far away from those Canuck bucks aren't so lucky. And according to a wide ranging article in the New York Times, it appears some of their worst fears are coming true.
