The way CBS has been bending over to a certain American administration has been shameful enough (including a completely unjustified multimillion dollar settlement in a case they would have certainly won to make sure a huge merger went through.) 

But now there's a new incredible concession from the network. After an appearance by one of Trump's appointed shills, who complained that her piece was altered to change the meaning of what she said, the network has agreed to no longer edit any of its "Face The Nation" interviews and instead, let them run as is. 

Sounds reasonable at first, but do they understand how TV news works? You do a half hour interview but you only have 10 minutes of airtime. So you have to cut it down to time. We did it all the time in both radio and television. It had nothing to do with content. The show ends at a specific time. You can't just let people ramble on.

Plus, the producers said they were removing blatant untruths that were being told, in an effort not to spread (ironically) fake news. 

How do they expect this to work? It is a completely ridiculous concession to a would-be dictator trying to manipulate the media. 

I said it before when the first settlement was reached - shame on CBS. They have completely abandoned the principles they used to abide by and have lost credibility for a once storied news organization. Edward R. Murrow must be turning over in his grave. Goodnight and Good Luck indeed. But I won't be believing anything I see on CBS News ever again.
