Re: 640 Toronto New Voice

Incredibly wild & unnecessary...... I don't understand why Corus or Bell would want this interview to happen

Re: 640 Toronto New Voice

I listened to that interview with Greg Brady. I am still not sure if it's  live or a rehash of her interviews during the week on 1010. Very strange that Bell would allow this.

Re: 640 Toronto New Voice

It will be best of.

In my opinion, Bell comes out on top of this one. They get syndication revenue and what amounts to an infomercial for one of its biggest shows.

Corus gets two hours of very good programming a week in a dead-zone.

Will she show up for work more often?

In that case, much ado about nothing.

Re: 640 Toronto New Voice

Anybody know who came up with the idea to have Vassy on Corus?

Could it have been Mike Bendixen?

Maybe this is what Toronto hockey fans felt like when the Leafs traded their star player Frank Mahovlich to Montreal to play for their biggest rival the Habs, like the universe is out of kilter. 😏

The Leafs traded Frank to Detroit. The Wings sent him to Montreal a couple of years later.

thanks for sharing the correct information dieter, I definitely "fanned on the puck" when I wrote that the Big M went straight to Montreal.

Re: 640 Toronto New Voice

I listened to the 640 version of the show on Saturday. It was surprisingly dull, a rehash of old interviews done during the week on iHeart. Even the theme music was the same as her noon-2 PM show.

They might as well have just been doing a reroll on CFRB. In fact, it would not surprise me if the same show runs overnight to fill in time on 1010.

It all comes the same weekend as Vassy's "Question Perod" returns to CTV after a summer hiatus.

Re: 640 Toronto New Voice

I enjoy Vassey's weekday show on radio whenever I tune in.  I find Power Play thru the week on CTV News Channel is a better program than Sunday's Question Period which is an overview of the week.  For political junkies Power Play and Power And Politics with David Cochrane on CBC News Network are a must see.  These programs are live and can handle any political breaking news.  CBC has a slight advantage since it runs two hours compared to CTV's one for Power Play.

The show that aired on 640 Saturday was a mish-mash of old interviews that didn't really hold my interest. Which is unusual, because I normally really like her radio show. But week-old news and ancient Q&As just didn't work for me.
