Probably on vacation until September. As others have noted, apparently Dina resides mainly in the Caribbean and comes back to Canada to film segments for BT once a month. She is still listed on BT's website so I don't think she's been canned.

This decision really is a head scratcher. Doing taped segments on a "live" show seems weird to me. So you can make absolutely no specifics, just speak in general. Don't mention the beautiful day outside on tape, while live in the real world, it's raining cats and dogs. Just seems like a lot of work for little payoff.

agree--my bet is obviously has a picture of someone doing something they shouldnt have or the julie adam effect where talent doesn't matter when it comes to her buddies

Would love to see the ratings with the "new" crew. Numbers may be there out of habit, but it really is a shell of what it used to be.

The whole channel is a shell of what it used to be. I cannot honestly remember the last time I watched anything on Citytv, and I once worked there. They may not have been top rated in this market, but they were way better branded than they are now, and actually were part of the GTA community. They were everywhere!

I haven't watched BT since I stopped working at City, but my family are all regular viewers. All I've heard are complaints from them since Dina returned. With Frankie now gone, they are all switching to Global or CP24 in the morning.

I'm certainly not a regular morning TV viewer but the few times I've tuned in .. well .. she's just not likeable .. but everyone's tastes are different, to each their own.

She's also an Executive Producer of the show, so I'm sure there was a generous amount of time off and "working from home" negotiated into her contract.

Tuned into BT this morning.
Melanie Ng sitting in this week with Devo Brown.
Devo announced Tim Bolen off this week while Dina will return in September.
That's 2 months off for Dina! Mind you she was a judge on Bake Master Battle, the shoe concluded July 29, 2025.
But wow! BT has become a rotating hosts.

And she's gone again this summer, as BT announced a slew of "guest hosts" for the month of July.Either BT's ratings were clearly in the dump with Sid and Meredith, or Rogers is saving money by not paying Dina a full-time salary under this type of arrangement (or both). I can't imagine they're paying her a full-time salary while also paying a revolving door of guest hosts in her absence.

Gurdeep and Pooja were on BT this morning. Test run? Dina only shows up at 8 a.m. anyway. The dog birthday messages are painful. Needs a full reboot.

Since the new format of segments and Devo's departure, the show improved a bit than Dina's return and it's format.
What do you mean?
When Tim Bolen was named co-host and Dina returned in March 2025, the show seems to be trying to fill in air time with improvisation with "Our Two Cents", "Random Round Up" and Tik Tok trending games. Sometimes the pre-recorded topic discussions with Dina are days after, not instant.
February 2026 they had a format change with shifting segments around with the "Morning Huddle" after the 8am news and weather. Notably, Dina is on air 8am, 8:30am and at the end of the show. Sometimes she chats about current news, sometimes she just talks about random stuff not relating current news. She will throw it to the news greeting Tammy/Caryn live, and for weeks she will move things along segwaying onto the news. Have you seen Dina sitting in at 8:50am and 9:20am for entertainment news consistently?
Regardless, at least they announced that Dina will be away on vacation spending time with her family and filming Bake Master Battle.
And laid out guest co-host for the month of July and more in August.

I’m actually surprised that BT is still a thing, the Dina return was a bit of a joke as it feels phoned in, plus she doesn’t seem to be there half the time. It once was a vibrant, informative and entertaining way to start your day, not anymore.

Erica Ehm appeared on BT at 8:30 this morning as co-host. She will be there all week. Rick Campanelli credits her with his beginnings on TV. She doesn't remember it. As well, she told a little fib, claiming to have left MuchMusic due to 'aging out' at 34. It's on record (from her) why she left and I would have done the same. Some insults demand that you part.
Otherwise very little rust. Quite comfortable on camera.
