I'm shocked nobody had reported this already, especially how relatively little I listen to the radio compared to most of you.
Coming up to the 9:00 hour, Catherine Jette mentioned the legal ID at the top, prior to the next newswheel starting. When it came time to say, "680 News Radio is ... well, she cited the calls as C-F-R-B, quickly correcting it saying "CFTR. It's 9 o' clock."
I'll tell you, I had a predictably immature reaction, resulting in a laughing fit. I'm shocked I didn't mess myself and require a change of pants and seating upholstery. Oh well, shoot me. It was DAMN FUNNY.
My guess, is the staff had to be talking about the station off-mic, since Richard Southern mentioned CFRB by extending a courtesy to their Doug Ford sound bite the other day. Then once you have that in your head, you might accidentally blurt it out on air. That's my guess, but who really knows.
Did anyone else hear this?

Wish I had! I love screw-ups like that. I suspect this will be part of the infamous "Christmas tape" that most stations play at their annual holiday party. We had one every year.

No this was on 680 News Radio, not 1010.

Actually, I'm not sure if that was the intent. The segment, featuring Blacklock's managing editor Tom Korski, appears every Thursday at 11:30 AM on CFRB and again at 1:45 PM on AM640. So it could have been a promo for both of those segments, although it does look confusing.
