Rogers/City TV Upfronts Gives A Shout Out...To Radio

In a rather unexpected gesture at their television Upfronts today, Rogers didn't forget about radio.  The company gave radio a shot in the arm and also claimed that they have more #1 radio stations across the country than anyone else.

An overview what City TV has planned for the fall from brioux.tv..https://brioux.tv/blog/2025/06/03/upfront-2025-rogers-pushes-pause-on-cgt-finds-new-role-for-howie-mandel/

Ooh, now there's the type of data claim I like to bite into.

Re: Rogers/City TV Upfronts Gives A Shout Out...To Radio

Most fair comparison I can think of, A25-54, Numeris, Most recent book

Where Rogers Operates:
Toronto: Rogers (CHFII)
Vancouver: Bell (MOVE)
Victoria: Pattison (Q100.3)
Calgary: Rogers (STAR)
Edmonton: Rogers (KISS)
Lethbridge: Rogers (ROCK)
Winnipeg: Rogers (CITI)
Sudbury: Rogers (Q92)
Ottawa: Stingray (HOT)
Kingston: Rogers (K-ROCK)
Kitchener: Rogers (CHYM)
London: Corus (FM96)
Halifax: Stingray (Q104)

Where they don't:
Montreal Anglo: Cogeco (THE BEAT)
Montreal Franco: Cogeco (98,5 FM)
Quebec, Saguenay, Sherbrooke, Trois Rivieres: I don't know, but Bell likely leads
Moncton: Stingray
Windsor: Bell (CKLW)
Barrie: COB (Kool)
Regina: Rawlco
Saskatoon: Rawlco
St. John's: ? (probably Stingray)

Checks out.

I find CGT or it's father, AGT a waste of time when the winner is chosen by audience votes. Totally unfair to the contestants when the votes can be pirated by special interest groups .

I have never watched either version that much.  Did see some of Britain's Got Talent years ago and it was alright but not something that I would watch every week.  I think giving CGT a rest is a good idea.  Howie Mandel on a local version of The Price Is Right will be interesting.  It could be a surprising hit.

Re: Rogers/City TV Upfronts Gives A Shout Out...To Radio

Canada's Got Talent "jumped  the shark" for me when the first 4 contenstants (or more) this year were from other countries. I stopped watching but nice to hear someone from Newfoundland won the million dollars this year.

I missed the first episode of America's Got Talent which also suffers from the too many contestants from other countries to match the name of the show problem. I usually record the 2 hour show and watch it all later in about 40-45 minutes by skipping through commercial breaks and acts I don't particularly care for.
