This is a pretty interesting analysis of what a well accomplished media manager says is the abject failure of the CRTC to protect Canadian broadcasters.
"There is something deeply wrong at the CRTC. It does not seem to understand that the most important cultural industry in Canada faces major challenges. It seems more preoccupied with processes designed to delay decisions and avoid controversy than solving the problems at hand."
The CRTC has failed to protect the Canadian broadcasting industry

Interesting article and not a lot to quibble with. I think everyone agrees that the CRTC moves far too slow and often fiddles rather than tackling the larger problems and issues. One thing though, if they ever get around to actually really overhauling radio and tv, new media and to protect and grow Canada's cultural industry, many here and outside the country may not like what they propose.
