The Who Coming To T.O. For Last Time. No They Really Mean It This Time

I don't put up concert announcements here often, but with The Who revealing that they're coming to Toronto for two absolutely last, drop dead, this-is-it, we mean it this time, final ever tour, it's too good not to notice.

I wonder if a station like Q107 or Boom 97.3 will be giving away tickets as part of a promotion? It would seem to be right in their demo.

The two T.O. dates are September 2 and 4th at The Budweiser Stage near Ontario Place.

Either way, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend insist this is their final kick at a can that was manufactured way back in the 60s. Guess they're very glad they didn't die before they got old!

Their first farewell tour was in 1982.

The final concert of the final tour in 1982 was at Maple Leaf Gardens.
Though I'd seen them before I skipped that one but have seen them a few times since!
My friend had a VHS copy of the 1982 concert and I recall seeing it that way.
I think I'll skip this one too.   The last time I saw them wasn't long enough ago.

And for those not in attendance and didn't watch the show LIVE on TV...

This is their Honest-To-God last tour ever?

Edit: I watched this LIVE off-air on a Sony 27" Trinitron TV, "huge" for the time, and listened via my Sony STR6065 stereo receiver with JBL Nova speakers - cranked to eleven. At times I even sat far back from the screen and used my binoculars to simulate "being there", and it worked to do just that!

Call me a fan. Call me crazy. But don't call me during the broadcast!

Here is my opinion, the one rocker who will outlive them all will be Keith Richards. Way to go to Pete and Roger for still doing it.

I remember seeing them in 1982 at MLG and they were fabulous. In fact, this week while listening to GIANT FM 91.7, they played "Who are you" and left out the swearing line. I felt a bit short changed on that one.

I love the angst when they sing "who the eff are you".

The song is about Pete Townsend's day off!

Just a thought, there’s only two of The Who left, so if Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr got together, could/would they call themselves The Beatles?
