I just this on Lorne's Oldies Board. These are terrible allegations and I hope the truth comes out about them. Robinson is one of the key songwriters from the glory days of Motown and his music still plays prominently on oldies stations across North America. But if he's found guilty, you may never hear his music again.
Either way, what a potentially sad ending to an amazing career.
Smokey Robinson accused by former housekeepers of sexual assault and rape

Well, well, well, if it isn't #MeToo and the resulting cancel culture all over again. Plain and simple: if you're going to accuse someone, famous or otherwise, of something so heinous, the least you could do is not hide your identity, and do make your statements/allegations under oath. If you make such accusations anonymously, then frankly, you're full of crap.

Heavily disagree. Assault is a deeply personal and traumatic experience. I have no issue with anonymity here. Same goes for the woman at the centre of the junior hockey trial currently underway in London, ON. If either party ever decides to disclose their identity, then fine. Otherwise, sworn statements and such can remain behind closed doors.
I fail to see the connection to cancel culture in this case. That always seemed centred around persons who think or espouse unfavourable opinions, not alleged assaulters.
My problem with anonymity lies with protesters who cover their face. If you have a cause you believe in so deeply, you should be proud to do so bare faced.

When the P-Diddy trial concludes there are going to be a wave of hurt on both the victims and the perpetrators, the victims suffer a lot. It is common not to disclose names. In fact Argo QB's Chad Kelly's sexual case last year this time was against one of the physio trainers and she did not go public with her name.
Thankfully, the case is complete.
