It was on this day 6 years ago that CTV National News Anchor covered his own car crash on the DVP live.

One thing that Lloyd was really good at was ad libbing. This news report is a perfect example. He just had a very bad accident on a major highway and he explains what happened clearly, calmly with some humour and in detail. A lot of newspeople fall down a bit when they need to go off script. Robertson was one of the best on election nights. Always sounded like he personally knew all of the candidates and seemed at ease with whatever a live election broadcast threw at him.
I don't expect to see him or Peter Mansbridge on April 28th on network coverage of the election. CTV and CBC didn't have either on last time, even for a portion of the broadcast like they had previously.

Time is fleeting. They've been gone for a lifetime in news cycle years.

I checked on Google, Lloyd Robinson is 91, I'm not sure how his health is but if he is still able, I'm sure any tv or radio station would give him as much time as he wants if he ever wanted to give his two cents worth on any subject.
As for Peter Mansbridge, I think he is having to much fun with his own podcast and no longer needs CBC.

Is anyone else surprised he was driving a Volkswagen?

Maybe they should put up a missing poster for Lisa LaFlamme. Could City TV use her talents again on election night?
