This is interesting. Once Corus washes their hands of this business, the other question is, will the new owner still show interest in keeping Global news content (etc) on the TTC subway clocks?
(Winter ratings related: During a ratings season, the clock is/was a nice place to advertise Corus radio & TV stations, especially with exclusive advertising rights that they paid Pattison group for)

What are the ratings for Hamilton?
How's CKOC doing in the ratings?
I'm also surprised that new country 93.5 got a 1 share.
Today did not do very well.
Country's going to stay in Toronto

How do you know that stingray's bying the corus stations?
I think that's just a guess.
If so, CHIN should just sell 91.9 to neeti ray and by 93.5 and make it a half english language soft AC and half ethnic station.

I always presumed that 'Red FM' on the station list was Chinese but now that I googled it; it's Punjab? with a few HD options as well

Red FM in North America has popped up as a few different meanings.
Smooth Jazz,
Extra light instrumental versions of hit and classic hit music (Easy favourites)
and then there's Toronto, where it's Punjabi.

RED FM is a trade name used by three stations which are controlled by Kulwinder Sanghera of Vancouver.
The original station is CKYE-FM Vancouver 93.1 - transmits from Mt Seymour and there is a rebroadcaster in Surrey BC. The second licence he received Is CKYR-FM Calgary. His company purchased CIRV-FM Toronto from Frank Alvarez. When Alvarez owned the station it had a lot of Portuguese programming and a fair amount of Chinese and Punjabi Programming. For many years, Fairchild purchased airtime on CIRV-FM, during those hours of the day when the CRTC forbid them from running Chinese programming on 1430 CHKT. Each of the RED FM stations, originates most of its programming within its respective market. The CRTC conditions of licence - for each RED FM station, require a significant number of languages (other than Punjabi) and a significant number of ethnic groups to be served each week.
In any event the branding RED FM, stands for "Reflecting Ethnic Diversity".
