I keep hearing on both AM640 and CFRB that Trump is scheduled to give a major speech at 9PM in Washington on Monday night. I can't find any reference to this, but he's definitely speaking to Congress in a major televised address at 9 o'clock on Tuesday, a speech that will be carried on all the major U.S. networks (except for the CW) interrupting primetime programming.
Are they all somehow getting this wrong or is there a Monday speech I don't know about? I think they keep getting the date wrong and I'm not sure why it's being repeated and not corrected.

If they meant Monday when they said Monday,
wouldn't they also mention the Tuesday speech?
Sounds like a careless mistake to me.
The worst part of all this
is that it only takes two seconds to google

I hope nobody pays any attention to this garbage. Once again, the media continue to keep the FOTUS in the news cycle 24/7 and top-of-mind with everyone on this planet.

Did AM 640 correct themselves yet?
Their sister source clearly marks Tuesday night as the correct date:

Are the Toronto media planing of covering this. I ask the question because based on the evening programs on Talk radio ( including CBC radio) I don't think they have many people working at 9pm. So who would they bring in to do the show. Even on the national level for TV they are planing the last program of the day that will go into repete mode till 6am.
Looks like some overtime for some of the staff.

This used to be known as "The State Of The Union" address, but for some reason, it technically isn't called that this year.
Normally, American networks interrupt all their programming to show it and that's happening on Tuesday at 9 PM. But the Canadian stations don't bother - although with the tariffs coming, who knows if they would choose to cover it. But I doubt it. (You might remember the last one Trump did, when then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, sitting prominently behind him, famously ripped up her copy of the speech when he finished reading it.)
The one thing you can say about Tuesday is that any simsub for the night ends at 9PM. Global is showing reruns of its FBI series, CTV has new episodes of Tracker and Suits L.A., which I believe have already run in the U.S. this weekend, and City TV has two back-to-back episodes of Hudson & Rex, both of which appear to be reruns.
So there's no real reason outside of CTV News Channel and CBC News Network to interrupt regular programming or bring in extra news people for it. I'm pretty sure no radio station on this side of the border will take it either.

No, this is separate. It's a joint congressional address.
The State of the Union comes later.

Well, actually, you're right and wrong at the same time.
It IS the State of The Union speech, even though they're not calling it that because of the timeline. I saw that article previously and it tries to explain the name change.
"The Republican president’s speech will not be an official State of the Union address because he was sworn into office less than two months ago.
Starting with former President Ronald Reagan, several recent presidents have delivered speeches in the months after being inaugurated that serve the same purpose as the State of the Union, even without formally being one."
So while they technically can't call it that, it really serves the same function. I can only wonder what the "State of the Union" will be by the time it comes around next year? I'm not looking forward to finding out.
