From Radio To Online: Radio-Canada Int'l. Celebrates 80 Yrs.

Technology has changed but the mandate of the place hasn't - bringing Canadian news to the world that might not otherwise be able to access it. From shortwave to a lengthy list of links, Radio-Canada International is marking a major milestone - 80 years on (and off) air. 

It's boasted a number of well known names since its creation at the start of WWII, including Peter Gzowski. 

It's meant for a global audience, offering content in seven languages, and I'm betting the average Canadian isn't even aware it exists. What happens to it if the CBC is defunded is an open question.
