Brick Commercial "Wakes Up" Old Diodes Tune
Toronto punk/new wave band The Diodes had a minor hit back in 1978 with Tired Of Waking Up Tired. I always thought the song should have done better than it did, but didn't really receive the airplay that it should have.
The Brick has a new commercial that I believed had it's debut on CTV/TSN Super Bowl coverage a few weeks back. Well produced live/animated ad that promotes mattresses and uses that memorable Diodes song. Here is the song...do you remember??

Every time I hear that song I have desire to go to Sleep Country. NOT BRICK.
the last time I heard that song I thought to myself "Oh yeah, I need to go to Sleep Country to get me a Casper bed"
Sorry Brick. Your ad gets an A for nice song, but an F for the ad. I don't want music. I want LOW PRICES and I want to SEE those low prices!!!!!!
It's TV, not radio. Take advantage of showing mattresses and mention the prices. Enough singing already.

I didn't know this, but The Brick is often the top television advertiser across the country. They usually have a few commercials running at the same time. Speaking of Sleep Country, I can't say that I see them on TV or hear them on radio nearly as much as a few years ago. From Media in Canada...

Don't forget that Leon's and the Brick are the same company, and there's no more Bad Boy.
Leon's/Brick is the only choice there is for furniture now.

Bad Boy was never national. They closed 12 stores in Ontario. There are lots of regional furniture stores, we have a lot in K/W like Snugglers, Smitty's, St Jacob's Furniture, Conway, Home Furniture, Ashley, Tepperman's, Schreiters and many more.
