If you were listening to Ben Mulroney's show on AM640 Tuesday, you may have noticed the lack of mic quality. If it sounds more like a phone line, that's because it likely is.
Mulroney went to Montreal for the Family Day weekend but because of the extreme snow and the accident at Pearson Int'l. Airport, he couldn't get back when his flight was cancelled. So with no choice, he became a real trooper and did the entire three hours from his mother's house in that city which - if anything - got even more snow than we did.
Given the cancellations at PIA, whether he gets back in time for Wednesday's on air assignment is anybody's guess. Until then, it's "Live from the Mila Mulroney Studios - it's AM640!"

Over on 1010, I'm not sure where Jerry Agar is, but he congratulated himself on bringing his remote equipment with him when he left for a Family Day outing. He's on mic at least but clearly couldn't get back to Toronto either.
Two hosts in the same timeslot on competing stations, both caught out of town by circumstances beyond their control.
That doesn't happen here often.

Jerry just admitted he's in Winnipeg. Could not get back to Toronto, either.

Jerry Agar is stuck in Winnipeg, couldn’t land at PIA yesterday, seems ok about it though!

Yes, Winnipeg in the middle of winter. Who wouldn't want to be stuck there?

I used to live in Regina, Winnipeg was balmy in the winter in comparison!
