I couldn't help but wonder - when the biggest game in North America was going on, what in the world was the Fan 590 talking about, even though it was likely almost no one was listening? The answer surprised me. I figured they would counter program for non-football fans, possibly concentrating on hockey or maybe even baseball.
Nope. At 9 PM, they were talking non-stop NFL. Have to say it confused me at first. If you care about football, you probably were not listening to them, regardless of what they were saying. At one point I heard one of them tell a guest, "enjoy the game tomorrow!" which told me they were rerolling an old interview.
To be fair, they were running the Infinity Sports Network syndicated feed, which was going live with updates and they even took calls from fans - although why they were listening was beyond me. (At one point, the host admitted there weren't a lot of tweets or phone action, because "everyone was watching the game." Talk about working a tough shift!)
Whoever made the decision, I suppose it was a no-win situation, regardless of topic. But it was weird they were yakking about the action in a game without being able to run a single second of audio about it.

Probably nobody stateside listening to that either. Who'd want to listen to NFL talk while the Superbowl's on? I get why 590 carried Infinity, but don't understand why they wouldn't be talking about literally anything else.
