It's the first official documentary ever made about the iconic band and it gets into theatres on Friday. Have to say I was only a modest fan of harder rock, but I would probably go see this based on the trailer and the origin story.
This is the only film band members have ever cooperated on, and that gives it an extra special heft.
According to a review in the Toronto Star, if you were a Zep fan, this one will give you a Whole Lotta Love. (And you gotta appreciate the snide reference to Q107!)
"Page and Jones were working in London as session musicians, playing on hits for such pop stars as Lulu, Donovan and Shirley Bassey (they did guitar and bass for her “Goldfinger” theme song). Page was also a member of the Yardbirds (whose early members also included Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton), while Jones had a side hustle as a church organist and choirmaster.
Blues singer Plant and jazz-influenced drummer Bonham were based some 200 kilometres north in the Midlands, playing in a folk group called Band of Joy. Plant was homeless, having been disowned by his parents for failing to become an accountant; Bonham, a construction worker by trade, was recently married to a wife who deeply distrusted Plant."
‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ is a spectacular origin story of a superheroic rock band

Looks good and I’m a Led Zep fan and had no idea this was in the works. The vintage footage alone is worth the price of admission! Thanks for posting RA, might try to see it this weekend.
