Netflix To Reboot "Little House On The Prairie"

It was a huge hit in the 70s and 80s but will a new version made for 2025 win audiences? Netflix is gambling it will, announcing plans to reboot the classic NBC series "Little House on the Prairie."

"It will blend elements of family drama, epic survival tale, and origin story of the American West, offering a refreshing alternative to more graphic and violent period dramas."

No air date or casting has been given, but it will be tough to escape the memory of Michael Landon in the lead role.

Watch out they don't raid 'Murdoch Mysteries' as a casting pool.  Something about period pieces tends to typecast actors. 🤔😁

Never watched even 30 seconds of this show. It was popular, averaged about 16 million viewers every week in the US for the 9 season run.

Success for The Little House reboot will come down to if they can get the right cast.

Other 70's series worth rebooting and doing a proper job with a seasoned show runner and decent budget....🤔

I'd go with
Columbo
WKRP in Cincinnati
Mod Squad

Re: Netflix To Reboot "Little House On The Prairie"

The CW tried to do a remake of The Waltons, with former John-Boy Richard Thomas taking the late Earl Hamner's part as "The Narrator." Not only didn't it work, but they actually left out one of the kids - Ben Walton - I'm guessing to save money on the cast! You can't redo a show and leave out one of the main kids!
