There's no doubt the heroes of Los Angeles are those involved in fighting the fires that are ravaging part of the state.
But there are other unsung heroes. Including radio and TV station engineers, who are working 24 hours a day to keep their stations on the air, even as the inferno comes ever closer to the transmitters that keep them pumping out vital information to the public.
The article below contains a video from KXPN-TV, which shows how close the ferocious flames edge to the equipment. It's pretty stunning.
They're also being asked to keep the generators running, just in case there's a power loss.
I can't imagine the stress this is causing or the hours they're working. And it gives a whole new meaning to the term "You're fired!"
