Reroll Wrecks

This is the time of year when there is tons of rerolls on the air, we get it. However, it drives me nuts when the rerolls are not cleaned up/edited. For example, yesterday, (Saturday), Jim Richards was telling listeners how they could win Taylor Swift tickets for one of the November concerts. I know this is old news, but couldn’t they have edited it out? He also gave out the phone number a lot, which I get, but still…

Re: Reroll Wrecks

Didn't 1010 get in trouble from a viewer complaint filed with the CRTC years ago for their rerolls that included the phone number and implying someone would call in and get on-air? Couldn't find a CRTC summary of that quickly, but after that ruling I seem to recall they established a "This program was previously recorded. Our phone lines are currently closed. To find the latest news and audio, visit newstalk1010.com" intro voiceover which was entirely missing before. The rerolls if not using that exact one are now more clear about "It's the best of Jim Richards" or "Join us live, weekdays at X" or whatever the phrasing to delineate that live radio isn't happening in front of us.

Its not every day that you can directly measure the quality of financial projections. However The Money Show rerun yesterday proved the expert more or less correct with the BOC iterest rate drops.
