Former KHJ jock Johnny Williams has announced that his long-running website, 440:Satisfaction, will be closing at the end of the year. 440:Satisfaction - which launched in 1995 - was one of the first, if not THE first, to deal with rock radio history. It was basically a listing of jocks and the station or stations they worked at. It was a valuable resource, and I'm sad to see it go.

One of the first websites I ever visited after I got my first computer way back when. Can't they just leave it up with a note saying it's no longer being updated? There is valuable historical info there and it would be a shame to lose access to it.

When the late Ron Smith (who was also a former DJ) announced in late December 2018 that he would be shutting down his excellent oldiesmusic.com site at the end of the year, it was due to a combination of the cost of running it and the fact that he wanted to move on to other things. I was barely able to get the Oldies Music Board set up in time to notify people on the former board before it disappeared, and so I didn't explore trying to see if there might have been a way of preserving all of the other info on the site somewhere else (aside from what can still be found via archive.org).
However, when I saw Dale's post I wondered if there might be a way of preserving 440's info, and if the World Radio History site might be a possibility. Turns out that the person who runs that site is already aware of 440's impending closure, and he's going to look into obtaining the info from it ... see message #3 at the link below. I hope that he will be able to do so.
