The veteran music journalist, whose website covered music, radio, TV and other subjects, was once known as FYI Music News. It was taken over by Billboard and became the Canadian edition of the world famous magazine. 

David Farrell passed away on Thursday, after an illness about which he told only a close few. Farrell earned a huge farewell spread in Billboard Canada, which is a sort of Canadian version of the chart publishing giant. He was 73.
