A wee bit of a positive surprise for Jazz FM

Here are the reasons why fund raising drives would be a challenge this time of year...

Softer economy

Low ratings

Christmas shopping

Fund drive fatigue

Yet much to my amazement Jazz FM is set to have a healthy Winter on air fund drive and should surpass the $200,00 mark tonight at 9 pm.

Glenn Woodcock and former host Terry McGelligott are pitching listeners as I type and kudos to them for reaching this milestone.

The station depends on listener support as they are limited to 4 minutes of ads each hour.

It is a nice surprise, that gives the station hope, money to run their operations and that they have a more active listener base than the recent Numeris ratings would indicate.

They had over $213,000 in donations, not too shabby, considering the social/economic and broadcasting climate...
