Channel Zero (or Channel 11 LP - a Channel Zero company), the parent company of CHCH in Hamilton, have admitted they were involved in unfair labour practices as part of a settlement for former staff terminated in a restructuring that cut a lot of local news hours in December 2015.
The settlement will give $1,000,000 paid out over two years to those terminated. Any employee who was hired back after the bankruptcy at a new company to replace the bankrupt one, will not receive any of this settlement.
I have attached the stories from The Hamilton Spectator and CBC Hamilton. It looks like a collective bargaining agreement is back in play at the station, while none of the former employees had a say in what they will end up getting. The Unifor union rep says this will give former staff less than they were entitled to under the collective agreement, but more than they would have received since the company went bankrupt.

Impresario would be a better descriptor....
Whomever at CHCH is responsible for bringing CHEERS re-runs to 5:00 p.m. TV should get that $ million

Just curious - did this story make CHCH's 6 o'clock news?

It's only 5:30. The news comes after Happy Days. Stay tuned for the adventures of Howard & Marian and their kids Richie & Joanie along with friends Potsie, Ralph Smalph & the Fonz.
