There has been a lot of talk on the big yellow board about Corus' financial situation. They seem to have tied their future to their subscription TV service "Stack TV". Although I support Canadian subscription/on demand services, and pay for Stack, let me tell you it suffers from poor software implementation, and no customer service whatsoever.
Case in point. There is a UK series "Undeclared War" - about people working for the British Intelligence Service in internet security. It is a well produced well-acted series. But only 3 episodes will play on any device, with episodes 4,5 and 6 showing as "unavailable". I wrote to Stack TV, and got a file number response from a robot. But almost a week later, no human response. There was a "pop up" that indicated that the series will be taken off the service in 8 days. Because the series has already run on one of the Corus TV channels, it seems that this is a server or operational/coding error.
With other series that are on Showcase, there is no indication of the "release date" of the next episode(s). Apple TV, Netflix and Prime Video - almost always provide you with a "screen shot" of the next episode with the release date - case in point, Bad Sisters on Apple TV provides the next episode release date of this coming Wednesday.
Honestly I'm rooting for Corus to succeed in this bold initiative because there is a lot of great content up on Stack TV. The service is really over-priced given that the programs are littered with the "same" commercials over and over and over again. You would have to watch 3 separate John Hamm commercials for Skip the dishes every 10 or 15 minutes in a program - it is really tedious. Each spot is horrible. But there's good content taken from a number of US and UK services including Peacock and Sky.
My question is, is there anyone at Corus watching this board? Surely someone over there has to step up and take charge of poor customer service complaints.
BTW there's no phone #, or email for Stack TV. You fill in an online form, which is really inadequate particularly if you have screen shots of the errors which occur with the service.
