Months Later CKWW Still A Hot Topic On Detroit Radio Forum

For months now the ownership change at CKWW has been a very popular topic on the Metro Detroit/SE Michigan Radio & TV Buzzboard.  Right now the post regarding CKWW WILL LIVE ON!  from almost 4 months ago has about 39,000 views and 104 replies.  On the section that deals more with neighbouring states and Ontario, CKKW's ownership change has had over 26,000 page views.

Sort of hard to comprehend why a 500 watt station in Windsor would attract so much attention and for so long.  Even this morning the post is still in the top ten.  Comments are very mixed, but it is obvious that there is a lot of interest on the forum in Michigan regarding this small Ontario station.  Maybe the memories of CKLW are still a factor.

Re: Months Later CKWW Still A Hot Topic On Detroit Radio Forum

Just checked the Metro Detroit/SE Michigan Radio & TV Buzzboard and CKWW still has lots of views with almost 44,500 over the past five months.  So much interest about this station, at least on the Detroit radio forum.

Also interesting the comments from the fellow that has been listening to Detroit area FM for the past while. His Sirius XM service has been unavailable for a while in his  vehicle..https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=41

Will neeti everopperate both CKOC and CKWW with more than 2 actual hosts?
CKWW has more adds than CKOC and they had a short lived talkshow whare they got allmost no calls from listeners.

Have not listened to 580 since the changes were made. CKWW had a loyal following in the Detroit area simply because of its oldies programming. There are no other stations in the market that were 100% oldies. Content is still king?

Re: Months Later CKWW Still A Hot Topic On Detroit Radio Forum

I did listen to CKWW's morning show for a bit a couple of months ago.  The hosts talk a fair bit, and are  Windsor/Essex centric.  The rest of the day, I have no idea what the station is up to other than they play all gold.

CKOC just seems to be going through the motions whenever I have tuned in.  Announcers that don't put much effort into their shows and don't do many breaks per hour.  Guess that is why nobody is talking about them here or anywhere.

I liked their talkshow.
I was hoping they would launch one on CKOC.
Its sad that the show was only lasting for a weak.

Re: Months Later CKWW Still A Hot Topic On Detroit Radio Forum

I listened to CKWW for a while this afternoon.  Their station breaks have improved and on a few now say CKWW serving Windsor/Detroit.  The company that owns the station (CINA Radio Group) already has a sales office in Dearborn.  CINA FM in Windsor targets Dearborn and most of it's revenue comes from across the border.
