I didn't think it was actually possible, but there's a spot currently running on nearly every radio station that's worse than Spence. And it's only because of how it starts.
I'm talking about the endlessly repeated commercial for The Lion King, that starts with that singer screaming a single unbelievably long and ear splitting note. I realize it's from the play and is perhaps part of African culture. But when I'm out walking the dog and that thing comes blasting into both ears, it instantly gives me a headache.
Every. Single. Damn. Time.
And it would seem there's no avoiding it.
It is the radio equivalent of fingernails on a blackboard to me. At least with Spence and Tom's Place, you have a small amount of warning and can quickly tune it out. This thing does not give you the chance because it goes off like an alarm clock when you least expect it and lasts an agonizing 5 secs. or longer.
I have rarely encountered anything so irritating on the radio. Or should that be ear-itating?

Agreed. It is extremely annoying. Just about had enough of the non-stop 'Refuge' ads, as well, but as someone who has had his share of birthday cakes and Christmas presents, I guess I can't relate.
